Turkish rugs get their names from the regions where they were produced, the techniques used in their manufacture, their patterns, colors, and design.
Milas is the center of a weaving area in Western Turkey near Izmir. It gives its name to all the carpets produced in the region. Milas carpets are knotted with natural dyes with 100% wool. These carpets are frequently woven in different shades of brown, gray, brick red, and dominance of light brown and yellow. Geometric designs are prominent in the pattern.
